Yes, I am getting married! Finally! I was actually thinking that I may never ever get married and end up an old spinster, living with three cats and a budgerigar. Thankfully my knight in shining armour eventually arrived, even if I was already 41! Everything for the big day seems to be in place. It should be because I have been planning this day for over forty years! The dress is being made, cake ordered, flowers chosen and Venue Finding Team Building Events venue booked. The only thing to organise now is the hen party. To be honest I was not going to have a hen party. Firstly because I am not sure that I still count as a hen at my age and secondly because they tend to be a little tacky. However, after careful consideration and a lot of persuading I decided to go ahead and have one but the guests have been informed to leave their suggestively shaped straws at home! This is going to be an elegant hen party. I have decided to have the party with a 1920s theme. Dressing up is optional but most definitely encouraged. However guests are informed that they should be dressed elegantly, I don’t want any “flappers” turning up at my party. I am going to hold the party at my friend’s wine bar in a nearby town. We are going to organise some jazz music and of course we will all be doing the obligatory Charleston after a few glasses of something sparkly. I am really looking forward to the night and just hope it all goes to plan. I don’t want any nasty surprises and I most certainly won’t be wearing a veil or L plates. Fingers crossed.
