Model papers are the best tools to evaluate student's preparation before he or she enters the real arena of examination. The CBSE Model papers are usually prepared in accordance to the content-wise marks allocation scheme of CBSE. These can help to find out the topics in the syllabus which requires more preparation.
The finest technique to crack the Model papers in the set time is to actually manage time and speed. There are several positive sides of solving Model papers such as:
1. Firstly, model papers facilitate in time management. Many students due to bad time management are unable to complete their entire paper. Students should try to solve the Model papers in the scheduled time. This will ensure enough practice before the examination, and in turn reduce the nervousness in examination hall.
2. Secondly, they give the students a general idea about marking scheme. These papers are planned in accordance to the most up-to-date marking pattern that is issued by CBSE. This helps to recognize topics in the syllabus that requires extra attention by the students. In addition to this, students get to sense the pattern of questions that may be asked in board exams.
3. Thirdly, these papers help in finding out the weak areas of students. After finding out weak topics, students can then focus on that portion of syllabus. It is not possible to find out weak areas , while revising the entire course content topic-wise. Model papers are good to give a broad idea of how the question paper will look-like and draw attention to ones weak areas. In fact, the students can give particular stress on their weak points as well as re-test your performance by solving several Model papers.
4. Fourthly, generally students lose their self-confidence and get disheartened while sitting in the examination hall. The examination phobia makes many students uneasy or uncomfortable, thereby affecting their result. However students, who practice enough by solving Model papers, positively overcome all these fears as well as difficulties with no trouble.
5. Lastly, time-bound writing skill is extremely significant for students. It is crucial that the students must be able to complete the entire paper in the time allocated to them. It is only enough practice that increases the speed. In addition to this, the answers written should be in accordance to the marks allocated for them. For instance, for a 1 mark question, the students answer should not exceed more than one sentence. As a result, they tend to miss out on other questions that they could have attempted had they not written unnecessary things in the examination and wasted time.
