Painting, literature, Music, dancing, Martial art and more are all different type of arts. These arts further have thousand of styles like in Painting and sculpting there are so many variety of art, like the portrait art, still life art, sartorial art, landscape art, Abstract art, street art, Maritime art, Indian art, Japanese art, Chinese art, Indian art, Persian art and many more. Each continent has a way of expression in their art; for example Indian art has Tanjore painting this is a style of painting using gem stones combined with color and gold, these are very expensive form of intricate art. The Chinese have the art called Tang Dynasty which is based on the particular era in the history of China. The art in the world is so diverse and so limitless. The Maritime art is what we would like to discuss here about. Marine art or Maritime art is a form of figurative art it could either be a painting, drawing or sculpture that portrays the inspiration from the sea. Usually the Maritime art you will see that it depicts the ships and the sea. This art was particularly a strong subject in the 17th and 19th centuries. If you look at the history of Maritime art you will find that vessels on the water were featured in the earliest known time. Maritime art from 12000 BCE shows reed boats in the Gobustan Petroglyph Reserves which is modern time known as Azwebaijan, on the edge of the much larger Caspian Sea. There are Maritime art from the 15th century by Vittore Carpaccio. His painting shows Venetian canals or docksides. You will find Maritime art of the Dutch golden age by the Dutch artist during the 1650’s. Dutch Republic relied of fishing and trade by sea for its exceptional wealth; they had naval wars with Britian and other nations during the period. Maritime art has always told the story of the era it was painted in. the artist of those eras told the story of those centuries and left us the memory of that we can appreciate and relate to.
