Manipulate if at all... do it for a higher purpose
Manipulation leads to a dead end; manipulate only when a higher noble purposes are at stake…
Let me tell you about an old inspirational and a guiding story in India. The story as it goes; there was a person living in a town several hundred years ago. That person was an ordinary householder but a deep spiritualist by his nature. His engagement into his spiritual activities was so profound that almost the entire town was aware about his character. Although he practiced as a small time shopkeeper though he retained the ‘truth’ in all his deeds… to an extent that even if something untrue happened through him, unknowingly… he shall recall of it and revert back to the person who might had to suffer some pecuniary damage on account of his untrue conduct. And not only that… he ascertained a punishment for himself and shall observe it as a penance in order to enable the realization of his error deep down to his sub consciousness.
His family was not happy of his conduct on a basic premise that the entire world around them was totally inconsonant to the conduct practiced by their family member. They used to attempt through all means in order to educate him about the intricacies and manipulative nature woven around their society and explained him on countless occasions that his truth was leading to more damage than gains. But this gentleman would listen and shall refrain from any argument instead silently practices with sincerity of all that he deeply believed into…
With passage of time his character became famous around the city and its extent rose to such levels that whenever someone had to prove or establish the veracity about any fact then his name shall be brought in as a mention to withstand the truth or to indicate the integrity of some other person that was prone for its tenacity. Good as well bad people around him recognized the purity of his conduct. Though his life was just like any other ordinary householder but the respect offered to him by all; was much more than it should be paid towards sage of the highest order.
During those times there was another ill practice of procuring small young girls from very poor parents who could not afford to meet basic needs of their family… extending up to minimum meals during any day. The practice was a stigma upon the society of those times therefore very few people shall perform such an act in hidden manner. Those young girls were then brought before aged males and were married with them. It was specially with those aged males who had earned a bad name for any reason of not keeping their previous wives in good health or such males who were considered under the omen of experiencing their wives dead soon after their marriage. It (the ill practice) was prevalent with such males for one or the other reason that in fact dissuaded the society to offer their girls as brides to them (such males). However the male would bear affluence any ordinary parent that could afford the sustenance of their kid shall never enter into such practice of almost sacrificing their girl. Thank god that the times have changed to a fair extent and such practices exist no more and even if by any chance they surface the law of the land spares no moments to apprehend all those who became party to enable this practice find its way…
Now, one day somewhere within that town someone must have entered into such ill practice and the marriage was to solemnise at a temple. This person (the main character of our story) was sitting on some platform near the temple… it was winters and was almost dark in the evening. This worthy man noticed a small girl dressed as a bride running towards him crying aloud for help… this gentleman took no time to understand the entire background story and immediately pressed him into action. He asked the girl to jump into his body wrap. At India even today people use body wrap known as shawls to protect self from the chilly weather. Those male wraps are large enough for two rounds around any normal sized male. And while sitting those wraps almost become a small enclosure wherein any small object or subject can be very easily concealed within.
This gentleman without wasting a single moment accommodated that small kid within his body wrap… he had just accomplished with his act that he soon saw five men running towards him… he remained unmoved of them… they approached him and soon identified him. They addressed him by his name with all reverence and enquired about the girl child. This gentleman indicated them towards a lane leading towards the forest and said… “I have seen the small girl dressed as a bride running towards that lane”… Since all those men were familiar with this gentleman they felt no need to doubt upon his words and went running towards the indicated direction to seize the absconding girl; which actually was saving her life.
Soon after those men left this gentleman brought that small ‘could be bride’ to his home and then made all necessary arrangements to transport her to some other town where she could safely cherish her future life.
He manipulated… yes he certainly did manipulate… but for what? Such manipulation shall always withstand any test of morality or spiritualism. Rest is left for the readers to draw and understand. Desire2will.com. dinesh kumar.(learning with discipline)
