As schools worldwide raise their educational standards, it is inevitable for students to experience a certain level of stress, regardless of their capabilities.

As schools worldwide raise their educational standards, it is inevitable for students to experience a certain level of stress, regardless of their capabilities. Besides academics, there is also a need to juggle other commitments, such as extra-curricular activities, extra tuition classes, family gatherings, and even social outings.
Most of us know that stress is a state of mental or emotional strain resulting from very demanding circumstances, but do we really know how to deal with it? Managing stress is a crucial determining factor of any student’s success, not just academically, but also in life.
Students probably will not realize that they are stressed until they notice their peers working harder than themselves to complete revision for upcoming examinations. As they start worrying, their psychology changes. Sleep and eating disorders are just some of the behaviours that may alter in individuals. This takes a toll on their physical health insofar as they cannot carry out their daily activities. Thus, stress affects both a student’s mental health and physical wellbeing.
In reality, it is probably tough for students to plan and adhere to a study schedule after attending a whole day of Maths tuition and Physics tuition classes. Fortunately, even as they are caught up with daily happenings, they can still handle any emotional stress that they encounter.
Firstly, students need to stay physically fit, so that they will not succumb to stress so easily. Having a balanced diet is paramount. It is important to include vitamin B in the diet, because they are essential for energy production and boosting the immune system. These vitamins also regulate blood-sugar levels to help keep mood stable and relieve stress. Foods rich in vitamin B include broccoli, wholegrains, salmon, nuts, mushrooms, eggs, beef and milk. It is also advisable to abstain from caffeine, because the addictive substance can cause nervousness, insomnia and headaches.
Besides maintaining a healthy diet, students must also find time to exercise regularly. They need not engage in strenuous exercise, but simply some light physical activity like jogging and yoga. Optimum performance in school is also attributed to getting sufficient sleep daily.
Whether in school or attending Maths tuition or Physics tuition classes, students need to create a good study environment for themselves. A conducive environment is where students feel relaxed. From classical music to aromatherapy, there are various options for students to choose from to help reduce stress and learn better.
