The indoor mounts require less space and wood while the exterior mounts require additional jamb and valance at the top. Begin by cutting the wood with the help of the axe to make a side frame. The side frame should be of the exact size of the window in which you want to fit it.
Therefore make sure that you have taken enough precaution to measure it at least three places in the centre, above and below. This will prevent any artifacts due to the difference in the constructional work. When you have cut the wood according to the frame size hammer all the four pieces into each other to make the frame. Once your side frame is ready, cut the planks of wood of equal size and depth to fit the frame that you have constructed. The planks should be glued into the frame after you have prepared them all so that they fit to make the louvered shutter. You can then install and enjoy your craftmenship.
