Every one of us deals with hundred if not thousands of service providers during one’s lifetime. Some companies diligently train and educate their workers on customer service and highlight its importance. At the same time, some companies believe that a customer will buy their product or use their service if he or she needs it, regardless of their customer service. The latter view is very old-fashioned and untruthful. The customer chooses his store or service provider according to his previous experience, someone’s recommendation or advertising. Recommendation and advertising carry only so far; the rest depends on the service or product itself. So, once a customer gets interested about the product, the brand’s task is to keep the customer interested in the future as well. That is why many companies value highly loyal customer programs.

When building a house or renovating, it pays to take a closer look at recommendations and loyal customer programs. Often you might save a penny if you happen to choose a company whose loyal customer program is truly rewarding and you get value for your money. However, these programs aren’t merely what you should pay attention to. While building our house, I noticed that even more important is customer service. Good customer service might be the force that carries you on and helps to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I myself have encountered great customer service when installing our fireplace. We chose Uunisepät, a fireplace company, based on recommendations and we couldn’t have been happier. Every time we went to their store we felt welcomed and not as if they were doing a favour for us. On top of that, they also stretched the extra mile when we were in doubt. For example, two days after we had chosen a fireplace model, we suddenly changed our minds after realizing that it wouldn’t be that harmonious with our furniture. So, we called Uunisepät and they didn’t reject our inquiry. Instead, they called four different people just to replace the previous order with the new one. And they succeeded. Now, looking back, I am truly grateful to Uunisepät for providing such an excellent customer service.
