If you missed having its predecessor, then here is the BlackBerry Torch 9810 up close. Yes, a lot of people noticed that this is a mere update of the Blackberry Torch 9800, but there is more to it than just being an upgraded version of the Torch 9800.
Let us talk about the phone's interface. This updated Torch ships with BlackBerry OS7. It offers colorful menu icons, it comes with touch-friendly grids, and this is also capable of splitting the phone's main screen into different touch-friendly areas. If you want to open up the phone's menu, all you have to do is to go to the phone's top display. If you want to tinker with the phone, then all you have to do is to use the space below. It will handle all of your notifications. The biggest portion of the screen is dedicated for all of your apps. You can choose to swipe things left and right to easily reveal different categories (i.e. frequently used apps, downloaded apps, and others). If you choose to swipe the screen up and down, you will then shrink or enlarge the phone's app drawer. In doing so, you will end up exposing the phone's wallpaper.
The phone may be give you the feel of a touch screen, but it still heavily relies on its BlackBerry Optical Trackpad. This is for making menu selections. The phone may have embraced the touch screen mania, but it still relies heavily on the well-known and most loved elements of a BlackBerry handset.
The handset is packed with a 3.2" 480 x 640p resolution TFT display. It is capable of giving you clear and crisp view at all times. You will also enjoy its new pinch to zoom feature. This is the same feature that Android and iPhone users are constantly bragging about.
We all love BlackBerry's keyboard, which they are famous for. This handset comes in with Slide-out QWERTY keyboard. You simply cannot trade this with Swiping and using your fingers for typing your messages and e-mails.
The phone may look like its predecessor but its new chrome finish is speaking for it. It is lightweight and it is something worth having. You can easily do anything and everything with the BlackBerry Torch 9810. This may have a new look from what you are used to seeing, but it is still the same BlackBerry handset that you would want to own and keep.
