Lamayuru Gonpa, situated on Leh Srinagar Highway is considered as the oldest monastery in Ladakh. This largest gonpa is located at a distance of 125 Kms from Leh city. Lamayuru Gonpa owned by Drigung sect of Tibetan Buddhism is an excellent spot for sight seeing. It was founded by Mahasiddhacharya Naropa during 11th century. Annual dance festival conducted in this temple attracts thousands of visitors from all over the globe. You can find here a wonderful collection of thankas and beautiful wall paintings. In the late evening, tour trip will return to hotel. Have dinner and enjoy a good sleep from hotel.
