The article emphasize on the leaks in swimming pools. It shares various methods by which these leaks can be detected very easily.
Swimming in the pools is really a fun for a person, but maintenance of that pool is a big headache for the owner. The most popular problem which the pool owner has to face nowadays is the leakage. The symptoms of leakage can be well observed by anyone. The most common among them is dropping of the water level. If the water level of the pool is dropping then there is only a single problem behind it, and i.e. leakage. Also increment in chemical usage, huge algae growth, excessive water bills or viewing water outside the pool also, these are all the symptoms of water leakage. When the air or dirt is blown into the pool or pulled in the pump, then it is the situation of suction side leak. So, by analyzing these entire factors one can have a clear view about the leak detection.

Sometimes dropping level of pool is not only because of leakage, it can also be because of evaporation. The rate of evaporation varies according to the environmental conditions of the particular region. There is also a method to calculate the rate of evaporation. To determine it for a particular pool, you can perform a bucket test. Fill a bucket with water up to a particular mark and put that on any of the step of pool. Also mark the level of pool. Now see after twenty four hours level of both, i.e. the bucket and the pool. If the amount of level dropped is constant in both the case then the reason of dropping is only the evaporation, there is no such leak exist.

When it is sure that there is a leak in the pool, then you must do a pressure test in both cases, i.e. whether leak is in plumbing region or in the pool structure. By this it is confirmed that exactly which part is actually the cause of leak. It really saves a lot of time in later leak detection. During pressure test closed test plugs are used so that one of the openings of a section of plumbing can be blocked. On the other openings pressure indication system is being putted. Now water is being flowed in the line and pressure is maintained in the whole system which shouldn’t cross 20 psi. If there is a pressure drop in the system then there must be a leak at that particular point. So, then the effected line can be removed from the whole system, and that particular line is being rectified.
