Land Rover is the official vehicle supplier to the 2011 Rugby World Cup. At an Official Vehicle handover ceremony at Eden Park Stadium, Auckland, Land Rover handed over a collection of special fleet vehicles.

Land Rover is the official vehicle supplier to the 2011 Rugby World Cup. At an Official Vehicle handover ceremony at Eden Park Stadium, Auckland, Land Rover handed over a collection of special fleet vehicles. In total there were 30 Land Rover vehicles handed over including Range Rover Sport models and Land Rover Discovery models.
The vehicles will be used during the tournament by RWCL and RNZ officials and organisers. The vehicles feature special RWC 2011 branding, number plates and commemorative badging to celebrate the association throughout New Zealand, which is quite a distance from Land Rover Edinburgh.
At the handover ceremony the cars were given to Kit McConnel who is the Rugby World Cup Tournament Director at Eden Park. He said at the ceremony, "Rugby World Cup Limited is delighted to have a long term partnership with the globally renowned Land Rover brand. The provision of the Official Vehicles by Land Rover is key to the successful running of Rugby World Cup 2011 and will be put to good use to ensure that the Tournament is run smoothly over the next few months."
As part of Land Rover being the Primary Sponsor of the Official RWC 2011 it has come up with a Rugby 2011 World Cup mobile phone app. The app will be providing fans with up to date Tournament information. The free app will be available for BlackBerry, PlayBook, iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows Phone 7, available in English, French and Spanish, offering the following features:
• Live match commentary and score updates
• Half time and full match video highlights
• Tournament news, fixtures, results, stats and standings
• What's on in NZ - for fans in New Zealand, find out what RWC 2011 events are happening near you right now
• Stadium information - location and stadium facilities
