In our routine industry world, we often come across a term called Fireproofing but how many people actually know what does that mean? Fireproofing is a Passive Fire Protection measure, refers to the act of making materials or structures more resistant to fire, or to those materials themselves, or the act of applying such materials. Applying a certification listed fireproofing system to certain structures allows these to have a fire-resistance rating. This does not really mean that an item cannot ever burn but it relates to measured performance under specific conditions of testing and evaluation. Fireproofing does not allow treated items to be entirely unaffected by any fire, as conventional materials are not immune to the effects of fire at a sufficient intensity and/or duration.

Normally fireproofing is done by adding certain materials to things that are already fire resistant. The superior materials you use, the superior fire resistances rating you are going to get. But, it is significant to keep in mind the fact that, just because something is fireproofed, does not mean that it will be entirely unaffected by fire. Nothing can ever be entirely immune to fires, but fireproofing them does give you a superior chance of having your things protected in case of a fire.

Fireproofing can be seen as many places in industries which includes steel structures to help them stay below 540 degrees of temperature. It is also used with electric circuits to keep the temperature below 140 degrees. Purpose of this is to keep it operational all the time. Fireproofing can be seen at pipe bridges at a chemical plant or in the concrete lining of a traffic tunnel. It is essential to keep these things fireproofed to stop or limit the damage bearing in mind a use of bridge or building and thus fireproofing is must.

People do use inorganic methods for fireproofing and lots of these things are designed as a Fireproofing Spray that is used to coat materials that need to be fireproofed. Spraying usually covers the surface with some coating usually known as plaster. Gypsum Plasters, Cementitious Plasters and Fibrous Plasters are famous Fireproofing plasters widely used in industries. An item which needs fireproofing determines the usage of plaster type. Again nothing can ever be entirely immune to fires, but fireproofing plasters do give you a superior chance of having your things protected in case of a fire.

Normally most of the newly constructed buildings are being made with fire walls to help protect the buildings from fire. It helps in stopping the fire spread out to other areas of building. It is not guaranteed to stop them though but of course the damage will be less.
