This is the early stage of dementia. At this stage the physician can easily detect the onset of dementia through tests.
Stage 5: Moderately severe cognitive decline
At this stage, the memory deteriorates further. This can relate to immediate matters as well like where they are or what time it is. People need help to perform everyday functions like dressing themselves. The average duration of the stage is an year and a half.
Stage 6: Severe cognitive decline
Memory deteriorates further. Many people are unable to recall recent events or remember the name of close relatives. Some individuals can suffer from urinary or bowel incontinence. They may even suffer from delusions, compulsions and anxiety.
Stage 7: Very severe cognitive decline
