Hana, Maui, Hawaii is a remote area on the East side of the island of Maui and is the #1 tourist attraction on the island. Hana may be small in size but every year it offers this weeklong celebration of the culture and the people of Hawaii. This year the activities begin on Saturday, October 15th with a kick off Parade and the introduction of the Hana Royal Court; and will end a week later on Saturday, October, October 22nd with an evening of traditional Hawaiian food, dance, song and culture of the island. There are countless events all week long with classes and information about the culture of Hawaii, lei making events and judging, a fishing tournament, games on the beach, tennis and volley ball tournaments, evenings of gathering with song and dance, and many activities perfect for couples or families to attend. It is one of the biggest events Hana offers and finding accommodations in Hana during this event is always a challenge. Hana has only one small hotel, a condo project that rents 13 condos and less than 60 vacation homes, B&B’s and accommodations. So finding your perfect place to stay will need to be done well in advance. Hana Oceanfront Cottages is situated overlooking the blue green Pacific Ocean at one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii, Hamoa Beach. We offer two beautiful couple’s only accommodations called the Hamoa Beach Cottage and the Hamoa Beach Suite. Being just two miles from the center of Hana town, it is the best location to participate in all the activities that this incredible festival has to offer. Hana may be a sleep little rural town most of the year but this week long celebration of the Hawaiian Culture brings life and energy to this remote area. As a long time resident of Hana I love going down to view this sweet parade were young and old alike work hard to prepare the floats. There are the horses, the motorcycles, and the wonderful children that bring the spark into this short but beautiful parade.
