James Zadroga was a very courageous man, he didn’t care about his own life and rescued people during the 9/11 incident.
We all clearly remember the devastating attack on the twin towers of World Trade Centre in United States of America, on the 11th of September 2001. The incident was very shocking and disturbing for people all around the world, as it was easily the world’s worst terrorist attack ever. Millions of innocent people lost their lives and thousands of them became homeless. Many children became orphan and wives became widow. The entire United States of America was in a state of shock, nobody could believe that the Twin Towers had collapsed.

The fire department sent half of the department staff on the site for rescue along with off duty fire fighters, medical technicians and police personnel’s. James Zadroga was one of the main officials in the rescue operations who spent more than 450 hours in close contact with asbestos, due to which he developed a fatal respiratory disease called Mesothelioma. James Zadroga was a non-smoker and had no history of any respiratory diseases until he came in close contact with asbestos during rescue operations at the World Trade Centre. Besides the WTC victims, people affected by this disease are mostly those who have worked at jobs where they have inhaled asbestos. Asbestos is an element found in construction sites, building material etc.

It was not only James Zadroga who was detected with this life taking disease. All the personnel’s such as police officers, volunteers, construction workers were also severely affected by this disease. Several committees were set up to provide financial aid to the people who had survived and volunteered at the 9/11 act. However the government wanted to provide assistance to people suffering from the Mesothelioma illness as these people were unaware that their rescuing other people would slowly bring an end to their own life due to inhalation of asbestos at the rescue operation site.
In order to honor the bravery of James Zadroga and other officials, the Government of United States issued a bill called the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act. The president of the United States, signed the bill and brought it into action on January 2011.

This bill was designed to provide financial compensation to the people suffering from the fatal disease called Mesothelioma. The bill would also reopen September 11th victim compensation fund to help the people who were severely injured by their exposure to dust and recover financial losses which is related to their illnesses.

The main objective of the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act was to focus on helping innocent people who are still struggling with the after-effects of 9/11 attack. It was because of this act that millions of people who suffered various injuries and fatal health diseases, were given financial aid which helped them to take care of their numerous medical expenses and post healing care.

One should note that an efficient Zadroga lawyer would help the victims of the 9/11 who are suffering from the various diseases or have been a part of rescue operation to get a reasonable compensation under the James Zadroga Health and Compensation act.
