Places to see :

Jaisalmer Fort : Built in golden sandstone the colossal represents the glowing eminence of the desert. The fort has 4 gateways-Akhaiyal,Ganesh Pol,Suraj Pol and Hava Pol. The fort stands over the Trikuta Hill at a height of 250 feet, encircles the entire town within its boundary wall across the hills. The fort houses beautiful havelis, Jain Temples of the 12th-15th century A.D .

Manak Chowk and Havelis : A main marketplace outside the fort leads to the narrow lanes dotted with famous havelis.

Jain Temples : The Jain Temples are one of the oldest temples in Jaisalmer, which are situated inside the Jaisalmer Fort complex. These temples have archaeological and religious significance attached to them. The group of temples in the fort were built between 12th and 15th centuries.

Patwon-ki-Haveli : Patwon-ki-Haveli is situated in a narrow lane near the Patwa Complex. It is the first haveli to have been erected in Jaisalmer.

Gadsisar Lake : Gadsisar Lake was built during the 14th century by Maharwal Gadsi. This artificial rainwater lake was the chief water source during that time. There are numerous shrines and small temples on the embankment of this lake.

Camel Safaris: Going for a camel safari tour one gets the opportunity to hunt the great deserts of Rajasthan that can not be covered on human foot. A trip to Sam Sand Dune on camel safari makes and excellent excursion.

How to Reach :

Air : The nearest airport is Jodhpur (285 km). The visitors can board a flight to Jodhpur and can drive or take a train to Jaisalmer.

Rail : A good connection with major cities of the country through Jodhpur.

Bus : Jaisalmer has a good network of roads and is well connected to other cities of Rajasthan including Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner and major cities of India.
