This article discusses how you can get a six pack through exercise, and explains why fake abs surgery isn't necessarily the best option.

Here In The UK there has been a lot of publicity about the new six pack surgery. This is because Darryn Lyons, a celebrity contestant in the Big Brother house, whipped off his top to reveal a perfect looking set of abs. Nothing unusual about that, although in this case he freely admitted they were the result of fake abs surgery that he has recently had done.
The cost of this surgery is said to be in the region of £4000 - £9000, so it is not cheap by any means. However providing you are not obese to begin with, you can create a perfectly toned set of abs with the help of this new surgery.
In Darryn's case I'm not sure he has done the right thing because apart from the abs, he is not exactly muscular, and he is also a little overweight. So it all looks a little bit weird and totally unnatural, particularly on a man who is now well into his forties.
This is why I believe the natural approach is a lot better. The reality is that a natural six pack will always look more attractive than a surgically developed six pack, and it will be a lot less cheaper to achieve as well.
You simply need to get your body fat down so that your abdominal muscles can show through, and you can start to get some definition. This isn't that hard to do if you do a lot of cardiovascular work throughout the week. So for example you could take up cycling, running or swimming, and even going on brisk walks will help shed some of your unwanted fat.
Once you have completed this first stage and reduced your overall body fat, you may well find that your abdominal muscles are already slightly visible. It doesn't really matter if they are or not because the next group of exercises will help give you definition.
Sit-ups are the traditional way of getting a six pack. You can start slowly and gradually increase the number of reps each time, making sure to leave a day or two between sessions to allow your abdominal muscles to recover.
This is one approach, but you don't really need to do sit-ups at all. You will often see professional sportsmen proudly boasting impressive abs and many of these people do not spend hours doing sit-ups. They simply spend some time in the gym doing a lot of weight training, which is often more than enough to give them lots of definition.
As long as you are slim and physically fit to begin with, then it is quite easy to get well developed abs. Of course this is easier said than done because many people spend their entire lives unsuccessfully trying to lose weight.
However if you remain disciplined and do lots of cardiovascular exercise and control your daily calorie intake, then you should be able to reduce your body fat. Weight loss pills will certainly help as well because they tend to work really well when you combine them with exercise. Then you can start doing some serious work on your abs.
The point is that it is possible to get the six pack you always dreamed of. You can resort to fake abs surgery, like Darryn Lyons did, in order to achieve this look. However it is possible to get a natural six pack with a little bit of hard work and determination.
