If you spend your time writing articles or blogs and you don't think you're getting a return.. this could be why... Good content... really good content, has the power to engage and educate a target audience. It builds loyalty and encourages interaction. It develops an organisational identity, drives brand awareness and positions your organisation as a leader in its field.
Good content... really good content, has the power to engage and educate a target audience. It builds loyalty and encourages interaction. It develops an organisational identity, drives brand awareness and positions your organisation as a leader in its field.
And most of you reading this will already know that…it’s nothing new.

So here we all are, spending our time writing blogs and creating articles to post on our websites and possibly on our social media pages in the hope that your phone is going to be ringing so much over the next 24 hours that it will burn out and we’ll need to replace it…but that’s ok because you’ll have so many leads – you can afford to buy a new phone every week.

So why isn’t your phone ringing? Why haven’t you needed to take a subscription out for a replacement phone on a weekly basis… and why therefore, are you still churning out content if it’s not delivering results?

Now I know there’s the SEO aspect of producing content but we’re going to ignore that for now.

There’s two points that I want to make.

The first I mentioned in the very first sentence of this piece and that you need to deliver GOOD content, not just any old content.

So what makes good content? Well, in my opinion - good content should fulfil two core objectives

1. To add genuine value to the daily lives of your target audience
2. To motivate your audience to take action and learn more

If you’re not doing both of these things, you’re burning valuable time which you could be spending elsewhere.

My second point is that you need to publish your content where someone will see it. What’s the use if you’re a small business, of simply posting your article on your blog and nowhere else? Yes eventually it will help your SEO – probably by the time the content is out of date and irrelevant, but it’s always useful to store a copy there but make sure you’re publishing it on other media to.

To make content really work for you, you need to treat each article as a mini product launch. Shout about it from the rooftops, post it across your social media, send it out on a mailer to your audience and publish it to every article publishing site possible making sure there’s a link back to your website everywhere you post it…and of course if you don’t have time to do all of this yourself, you can always get someone like us to do it for you.

I can’t promise you’ll need to replace a burnt out phone every week from our services, but I can promise you won’t be burning your own valuable time on something which at the moment is very likely not adding any value to your business at all.
