Recruitment process involves a systematic procedure of attracting candidates for job openings, organizing interviews, and finally selecting the appropriate candidate for the position. Companies often have human resource department for recruitments. But most companies prefer to use the extensive experience of recruitment agencies for recruitment purposes.

Recruitment is an integral part for the functioning of an organization. Proper placements add to the level of certainty of a company because the performance and results of a company depends largely on its staff. Efficient employees are the greatest asset of any organization.
The recruitment industry is a functional industry as people continuously look out for job shifts and employers also look out for efficient employee placements. There are basically four types of recruitment agencies: employment agencies, job websites and search engines, professional headhunters and niche agencies that work in specific areas. There are overseas employment agencies that specialize in global recruitment.
Companies have a human resource department that undertakes all recruitment functions. However, for some part of recruitment, they use professional recruitment services of an agency.
Recruitment consultants work in a two-way direction. They cater to the needs of the employers and at the same time they take into consideration the aspects of the candidate as well. The agencies aim to attain the satisfaction of their clients by giving them the right candidates. They also see to it that the candidate is satisfied with the offer he gets.
Recruitment objectives are achieved through a series of stages that include:
• Identifying the vacancy: The departments of the company send their manpower requirements to the HRD in one case and in the other, the companies appoint recruitment agencies and acquaint them with their manpower staffing needs.
• Preparing job description and job requirement: By analyzing the requirements of the vacancy, the agency drafts a detailed description of the job along with other specifications in terms of experience and qualification needed.
• Advertising the vacancy: The next step involves letting the target know about the job opening. This is done through online and offline advertising channels.
• Managing the response: The recruitment department organizes the responses to pursue further with the process.
• Short-listing: This is the screening process where the profiles of the candidates are mapped with the desired characteristics and accordingly the candidates are short listed on if they fit into the initial requirements.
• Organizing interviews: The shortlisted candidates are interviewed for further screening.
• Conducting final interview following decision-making: The candidates shortlisted in the first round of the interview face the second and the final interview and this follows with the job offer.
The purpose of Recruitments functions is not over with the final selection. The department or agency needs to assure the joining of the candidate and to keep a follow-up that both the parties are perfectly satisfied with the positioning.
With increasing international vacancies, most of the agencies have started specializing in global recruitment. People are largely taking advantage of overseas employment opportunities to achieve the desired heights in the career.
