The purpose of these labels is to identify and list inventory items of a large business that has a vast number of goods in stock. These labels are distinguished by the type of base material, called stock, that they are printed on. Currently, labels are available in the market in a number of adhesive backings. The tags are available and ordered in different customized sizes and shapes.
These tags are made up of vinyl, paper, plastic or metal and are attached to an item’s surface by means of their adhesive under surface. The details on the tags may include sizes, data fields and colors depending on the requirements of the order being placed. Besides the basic types of barcode labels, labels can be categorized into three main forms which are aluminum labels, polyester labels and ceramic labels. The aluminum labels are very durable, with an image on the surface which lasts for a long time even in the harshest of climatic conditions. It can resist wear and tear, heat, cold, chemicals and abrasion. The polyester barcode label has an image which is hidden in the underside of the plastic material. Known for its dependability, it is made up of a permanent industrial adhesive bonding. However, the ceramic barcode label which is also known for its durability is made up of a stainless steel base and coated with ceramic. These labels can resist in strong acids or very high temperatures.
Barcode labels can further subdivided into the categories like resin-coated paper labels, these are the most common labels used in the official work and are created with tough resin coating for durability. Paper labels, these labels are very economical and ideal for tracking of documents. Long-range retro-reflective labels are normally hung from a wall or a ceiling and are made up of rigid metal or plastic which provide maximum functionality for long-range scanners. Last but not the least is the floor labels which are used in industrial floors and are developed with steel and coated with urethane.
