RMFC is an in vitro fertilization & female infertility treatment clinic that offer treatment option from infertility doctors & specialists in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Dakota.
It's pretty common to start worrying about getting pregnant after 3-4 months of trying. Most women have spent so many years trying to prevent pregnancy from occurring –it's natural that most women find it hard to believe pregnancy is not happening immediately after stopping contraception. Although, it is harder to get pregnant, than those biology books have led you to believe, women should not be concerned until after 6-12 months of trying.

Rocky Mountain Fertility Center [RMFC] is a medical practice located in Parker, Colorado that specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. RMFC is a full service Fertility Center with an on-site In Vitro Fertilization [IVF] and Andrology Laboratory. RMFC and Dr. Smith has taken great care to bring together a very experienced staff of Nurses, Andrology technicians and Embryologists to provide exceptional care in a warm and friendly environment. RMFC understands the importance of building your family and will help couples through this difficult journey from infertility to family.

At the Rocky Mountain Fertility Center, IVF Treatment is available for women when other fertility therapies have failed. Only 25% of women who seek fertility care will need to undergo an IVF procedure to conceive. Most infertility patients conceive with lower cost and less invasive procedures. The process of IVF treatment involves five basic stages:

1. Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation [COH]:

In an effort to increase the chances of pregnancy COH is the process that involves the use of fertility medications to increase the number of eggs that grow in the ovary.

2. Egg Aspiration [Oocyte Retrieval]

During a natural cycle the egg does not complete its final maturation until a signal is given by the release of LH from the pituitary gland. During IVF, once the ultrasound assessment determines that the eggs are mature, this signal is given by the injection of human chorionic gonadotropin [hCG] to mature the oocytes. Approximately 36 hours after the hCG injection is given, the eggs are removed from the ovary.

3. Insemination [Fertilization]

Following the removal of the eggs, the aspirated oocytes and fluid are taken to the IVF laboratory and examined by the embryologist. The degree of maturity for each egg is determined and the eggs are then fertilized by one of 2 methods. The first method is routine fertilization [sperm is put into the petri dish with the egg]. The second method is Intracytoplasmic sperm injection [sperm is injected directly into the egg].

4. Embryo Development

A normal fertilized embryo will continue to divide from a 1 cell embryo on day 1 to a blastocyst by day five. The embryos are observed for the number of cells and quality. The better the quality of the embryos, the better the chance of conceiving.

5. Transfer

The embryo transfer is the process during which the embryos are placed into the uterus. The transfer usually is performed two to five days after retrieval.
