The world of lighting is continuously changing and it is always getting better. There is a need for cost saving, energy efficiency and a light that also protects the environment. The green lighting can reduce the hazardous waste and fossil fuel emissions. The best lighting technology available are the induction lighting and LED Lighting.

Both lighting options are the best alternatives when it comes to replace the HID lighting in many municipal, industrial and commercial applications. For a long time, the high ceiling interior, the building exterior, the stadiums, parking garage, warehouses, factories, parking lots, street and highway have always been in need for better lighting options than what HID was offering. The induction option offers better advantages than HID and they can save utility cost as well as the energy saving. They use at least 50 percent less of the energy used by HID.

They also offer better long lifespan so the users can also save the material costs and revamping labor that should have otherwise been used with the replacement of the lights. They have better color rendering index, white color and cleaner quality lighting than the HID high pressure.

The LED lights and induction can be turned on instantly unlike most of HID lamps. They reach the best lighting level without the power interruptions, re-strike and full brightness. The lamps do not have the filaments and the electrodes that wear out especially in the place where there is an excellent cold temperature and superior vibration resistance.

However, when it comes to induction lighting versus the LED lighting, there is no better one. Induction lighting is best in outdoor and warehouse applications and LEDS are better in interior applications 12 feet and under. Induction has twice the LED life, it maintains at least 70 percent of the light output over its lifespan. The led lighting lasts about 60,000 hours, it degrades down to 20 percent after its first 20,000 hours. Since the LED lighting has the light emitting properties, it also produces the excessive glare and it can affect the pedestrians, drivers and occupants. The induction lights can offer the visual comfort, better visibility and high CRI. From the time that the induction technology has been introduced, it became the favorite of many people for replacement of HID type installations. Since LED is semi conductor, it is widely used in the emergency lighting, automotive, interior lighting, signage and instrumentation. Even if LED is improving, it is yet to reach to the level of the induction lights for outdoor applications. When it comes to the price, the LED fixtures may cost more of 3 to 10 times compared to the induction lights of similar wattage. The induction gives fastest and best value on the investment for the lighting clients.
