When government jobs are thought of, many possibilities cross across the mind. For people of India, of the many opportunities, the one that has always been a matter of pride is a job in the defense forces. Be it the army, navy or airforce, it is a matter of honor for the recruit as well as his or her family members. Recruitment in the Indian defense force vacancy has always been done from the very old days, with different branches of defense services taking out their own advertisements.
This has enabled people to choose the particular branch that they wish to pursue. They can opt for the army, navy or airforce, which is also dependent on the rankings and scores in different qualifying exams. Apart from the usual three sections of defense forces, the Indian coast guard, the indo-tibetan border police, or the sashastra seema bal, etc are some of the other options. People have in many cases, it will be argued, failed to get selected into these branches.
Since promotions are done by the age and years of service, it is a particular feature of defense forces that is also an attractive feature. This is one of such sectors where there is no private company, offering jobs to people. Every job in the defense sector is under the central government as the defense is directly dealt with, by the government of india. With a hike in the salary according to the 6th pay commission, the pay packets of the people in army or navy or airforce, has become very attractive.
The core reason for the popularity of the defense vacancy in today’s world lies in the fact that many people are encouraged when they hear about the defense stories. Recruitment process for the different branches of defense forces is dependent on some written exams and interviews. For the lower cadre rankings, there are physical tests and direct recruitment. For the officer class postings there are written and interview rounds and require a minimal physical characteristic.
For training of the officers, there are a few institutes like Indian Military Academy, National Defence Academy, etc where the students are taken in after entrance exams and they are taught and trained to become officers. These officers are positioned in different areas and have a good pay packet. In the past few decades, the fervour to join the armed forces has decreased, which is again picking up. Due to the increase in salary and recognition of their working environment, they are also paid a number of other perks.
Many students are nowadays directly opting for these jobs in the government of India and are making good careers in their life. For the citizens of India, such defense vacancy has been proving beneficial. More and more students are willing, from their school days, to join the defense forces, so that they can contribute to the well being of the country, which is a dream for many of the students. To train the students in the right way and to help them achieve the dream of joining the elite forces of defence, the avenues are gradually opening up, while the students only need to create that fervour.
