The selection through the army is made through a written test followed by an interview. The selected candidate who has score minimum marks in written exam is further call for an interview round. The final selection is done after the interview round.
After the written exam CDSE, the UPSC declares the result and the interview round held within 50 days of the declaration of result. The interview details will be available at the official website of Indian army. The candidates who are doing 10+2 can also apply for Indian army by filling up the form of NDA. The advertisement for the NDA exam is published in all the newspapers. Websites during November and May of every year. This exam is held twice in a year.
Interview and written exam related information-
If a candidate is selected in the written exam, but not receive the interview call letter. He can apply for another call letter for his interview date or directly call to the head office to know his interview date. The official website also publishes the list of selected candidates in the written exam and their respective dates for their interview.
Recruitment at intermediate level
At intermediate level the Indian army recruits for two positions. First is NDA known as national defence academy, It is a tentative vacancy course, the exam held twice a year select 300 candidates. The applicant must be between the ages of 161/2- 19 years of age. The academic qualification for the candidate is 10+2 from a recognized university with physics and mathematics as a compulsory subject. The candidates must go through the instruction for applicants before filling up the form. The other area of recruitment is TES i.e. technical entry scheme. It is also a tentative vacancy course with 85 vacancies. The age limit 161/2 – 191/2. The academic eligibility is 10+2 with physics chemistry and mathematics as their compulsory subject. The minimum aggregate during 10+2 is 70%.
Recruitment for engineers
At engineer level Indian army recruit TGC engineers. The exam held twice in a year and the details of the exam is published in employment newspaper. The eligibility criterion fro applying to this exam is – the age should be between 20-27 years. The candidate must be BE/BTECH from a recognized university. Candidates who are appearing in final year can also apply for this job. Another position offered at engine level is short service commission at technical level. The vacancy details are notified twice per year. The eligibility criterion fro this position, the age should be between 20-27 years. The applicant should have a engineer degree from a recognized university. Training will be provided to all candidates after their joining the duration of training is 49 weeks.
