Following are the list of wildlife sanctuaries one really should not skip on India wildlife tour:
Sariska National Park: This wonderful park is situated in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. Sariska National Park is spread in approx 800 sq km area and the total area is full of green grass. Surrounded by beautiful Aravali hills, this dry deciduous style forests presents lovely rocky landscapes. One can find the royal Bengal tigers, Sambhar deer, Blue bull, Langur, Hyena, Jungle cats and other animals. Most of the Sariska National Park is covered with Dhok trees which provide shelter to many wildlife animals. Many crocodiles can be seen near the Siliserh Lake just 15 km from Sariska National Park.
Kaziranga National Park: The Park is lies in Golaghat District Assam. It is one of the oldest parks in Assam takes an area of 430 sq km. Kaziranga park is rated in world heritage site and famous for horned rhinoceros, tall elephant grass, landscapes, shallow pools. It is one of the last areas in eastern India and inhibited by world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses as well as many other mammals. The park is open to visit from November to April. Tourists can take rides on elephants to move around the park or cruise in a boat on the Brahmaputra along the park.
Sunderbans National Park: Sunderban National Park is located in the west Bengal. It was named on the mangroves plants called as Sunderi. It is a huge area covering 4262 square km in India alone. The park is surrounded by a buffer zone and mainly consists of Mangrove forests. The main attractions of the sunderbans are the Tiger, crocodile, and olive Ridley turtle.
It is considered that the best time to visit the Sunderbans national park is during winter time something around December and February. Actually this is the perfect time when maximum migratory birds are also present here. Even the weather is also makes favorable atmosphere to excursion.
