Safe Drinking water is one of the most fundamental rights for every human being. But it is really astonishing that irrespective of presence of water in almost 75% of the earth’s hemisphere, water scarcity is faced by more than two billion people globally. In India the situation is no better, though! Surface water and groundwater being the primary sources of drinking water, are often subject to contaminations by different forms of physical as well as chemical impurities. While the physical impurities can be wastes from agriculture and human consumption, the chemical impurities largely accounted from the industrial wastes, that mainly consisting of chemicals and minerals that are harmful for human as well as animal consumptions. The situation is even scaring particularly among the low income class of society. This contaminated water is often responsible for many water-borne diseases that have widespread prevalence in recent years. Safe drinking water is not accessible for many in the world as well as in India. And the role of India water news for raising awareness among the general populace in accessing safe drinking water cannot be ignored in such a drastic condition.

From Indian perspective, the need of the hour is to solve the water crisis by promoting and enforcing human rights to safe and clean drinking water. The population as a whole is in a highly vulnerable situation and to help them, government as well as Indian Water Companies needs to take up awareness campaigns regarding the need and availability of safe and clean water. A long term policy will be needed to carry out for all these projects with a planned and systematic approach. India water business can draw guidelines for safe water practices by industries as well as by public. General public needs to be mobilized so that they can demand for their right as well as duty for use and conservation of safe and clean water. At the same time, Indian Water Companies can take prevalent measures to teach the importance of clean water and what people should do to access the same in a rightful way. Once the general public is made aware about their rights and the need for safe, clean water, the problem can be controlled to a great extent. To provide drinking water to all communities India water policies to be strengthened so that a clear identification of the bottlenecks can be done. Spreading awareness about the safe use practices for natural water, the crises with safe and clean drinking water can be controlled. People of the country should be made aware about prevention of misuse of water so that this precious resource is available for many more people over a sustainable period of time. And the India water news can act as a catalyst for spreading this message to the general public of India as a whole.
