Even though with the occurrence of the western culture and clothes, people has a same respect and love for saree. Designers working on the logo of “NEW DAY NEW LOOK” are doing a lot of experiments with the styling of Indian traditional wear “SAREE”.
The most common method to wear a “SAREE”
Step1. Decide Your Shoes first:
The height of your heels is very important to determine where the bottom of the sari should reach. Try to wear a pencil heel to make yourself look more elegant and tall.
Step 2. Start Rolling it around your body:
Firstly at the navel, put the plain end of the saree into the petticoat and go on with putting, till you take a complete circle from right to left. Adjust the lower end of the saree according to your height of your footwear, so that the footwear’s are not visible after draping the saree.
Step 3. Measure length of your Pallu.
Hold the top edge of the saree where the pallu is and bring it around your hips to the front and over your left shoulder, thus measuring the length of pallu. The pallu should hang down the back to the knee. You can pin up your pallu to your blouse provisionally.
Step 4. How to make pleats:
Create pleats with the saree. Stretch your left hand and hold the cloth with your thumb and pinkie fingers. Wind the cloth with your right hand through the thumb and pinkie holding with alternating fingers. Make about 8 to 10 pleats and hold them up together firmly so that they fall straight and even. Tuck the pleats into the waist petticoat slightly to the left of the navel and make sure that the pleats should be turned towards the left. You can also pin up the pleats together , about 20 centimeters below the waist so that they stay in place the whole day.
Step 5. The Final Touch:
The remaining portion of the saree must be turned once around the body and then draped over the left shoulder. Arrange the pleats on this part of the saree and then pin them up on the left shoulder to prevent the pallu from falling off.
