Linear Equation is the most important and interesting topic of maths, which plays a very important role in various fields of maths as well as in various other fields also. In simple mathematical terms, we can say that any equation that when graphed and produce a straight line, is called as Linear Equation. Linear equation also plays an important role in simplifying fractions and in solving Quadratic equations.
A fraction is a numerical quantity that is not a whole number for example 2/5 or 0.5. Fraction may contain numerator or denominator that are composite numbers, a fraction in a linear equation is solved by following: Firstly find a GCF(Greatest common factor) of both numerator and denominator. Now divide the numerator and denominator by GCF. Then solve the linear equation which is free from fraction.
The common form of a linear equation with two variables like x and y is y = mx + b. Here x and y are two variables and m and b are two constants. If we draw the graph of this equation, the constant m determines the slope or gradient of that line and the constant b shows the point at which line crosses the Y-axis. Constant b also known as Y-Intercept.
The linear equations can be solved in two ways, isolate the variable for example we need to solve
3x + 3=15 then subtract 3 from both the side to make it easier 2x + 3 – 3 = 15 – 3, then it become
3x = 12, x = 12/3 = 4. The other method is graph method it is used to solve linear equation in two variables.
However, we can also use Linear Equation solver to calculate or solve our linear equation. Linear equation calculator is a very handy and easy tool to solve the linear equations. These Linear equation calculators use Cramer's rule to solve the linear equation, That is in the form of x = (c e - f b) / D and
y = (a f - d c) / D where D is the coefficient determinant given by D = a e - b d.
Quadratic Equations is an equation in which the highest power of the quantity or variable is square. It is a polynomial equation of second degree. General Form is :
f(x)=ax2+bx+c
The quadratic equation always form a parabola on a graph. Here a, b, c are the parts of parabola or we can say them as real numbers.
Various fraction solvers and quadratic equation solvers are available online and Math tutorials also available which will help you to understand fractions and equations in a better and interesting manner.
