Are you using a later version of PowerPoint to open a presentation created in a previous version of PowerPoint?
Suppose you are using PowerPoint 2003 and have problems opening files created in previous versions of PowerPoint, select ‘Check for Updates’ on the Help menu, and then install the Critical Update for PowerPoint 2003. For any version difference, do the same to avoid errors.
