Real estate sales have been in a slump over the last year and of course, foreclosures are everywhere, however, if you have a home to sell do not let this discourage you. You can sell your home and for what your home is worth just by doing a few things, one of which is writing a real estate ad that will get attention.
The first thing you must do is write a very catchy heading that is truthful. Use words that will draw attention such as Quiet, Near Schools, Pool, or other features your home may have. List as many amenities and features of the home and the neighborhood as possible in your ad. The more information you give potential buyers the more willing they will be to come and look at the home.
Do not lie in the ad. If your home is not close to the park or to schools, do not put that in the ad. If the roof is 20 years old, do not put in the ad – new roof. You get the idea. If the roof is only a couple years old, then put the roof is two years old. Do not use abbreviations. I know everyone does, but not everyone looking to buy a home understands these strange abbreviations.
Of course, you do not want to list all the problems with the home in the ad. You want to make the home sound wonderful so you give potential buyers all the good information. The more information the better as they will get an idea of what the home is like before seeing it.
Things you should list include the age (if it is an older home, you should also mention if it has been renovated), the square footage, the number of bedrooms, the number of other rooms such as a dining room and a formal dinning room, if the home has a fenced yard, if the home has a patio or porch, if the home has air-conditioning, if the home uses gas or is all electric, and if the home has an attached garage. Next, list all the amenities. Does the home have walk in closets, whirlpool tub, microwave oven, dishwasher, and other appliances. The best real estate ad will also include a photo or two.
The best way to advertise your home is through online classified ads as they do not usually limit you to a specific word count and will allow a couple of photos. You can find an online classified ad website that offers all kinds of features that will truly help you sell your home.
