Lots of people have been trying to find ways to stop being so stressed out all the time. In fact, studies have shown that being stressed can reduce the life span by a bit. It also degrades the inherent quality of life.

Stress creates restlessness and a sad case of blues. It can even lead to worse dilemmas, including a dwindling in immune response, memory loss, and potential heart problems for some. Although you can seek alternatives and treatments in the form of drugs, there are easier ways to cope with your stress levels, including working out.

Why is Breathing so Critical?

Breathing is a very crucial part of life. If you don’t breathe properly, then you are hurting yourself. Although you might not be able to see it, if you control your breath, you end up controlling how fast or slow your heart beats. The deeper and slower you breathe, you are going to feel incredibly relaxed and well rested. However, if you try to do this exercise for too long, then you might not be able to keep up. Instead, you should just do the exercise in small, quick steps. First of all, breathe in very deeply for about four seconds. Next, keep it in your lungs for seven seconds.

Afterwards, breathe out as much as you can for eight seconds. This ensures that you get a nice, clean dosage of good air. Repeat this for about two or three times in one try. To obtain the best possible results, you should do this exercise at least one time a day for a couple of weeks until you get used to consistency.

Relax the Muscles by Exercising

Endorphins are natural painkillers that your brain releases whenever you are undergoing some sort of workout. Not only do they decrease the amount of pain that you feel, they also give you an incredible feeling, which is that of relaxation. This is one of the reasons why you sometimes feel like taking a nap after you exercise a lot. However, this method of exercising is also great for relaxing yourself whenever you’re stressed out. All you do is simply lie down on your stomach with your limbs outstretched. Now, try to flex the muscles throughout your body for ten seconds. Make yourself as tense as you possibly can. Then, relax and let your arms and legs fall down to the floor. After a couple of reps, you will soon feel quite relaxed and pleasant all around.

This is one of the more efficient ways to become calmer.
While you can definitely try out certain types of medications or drugs, there is sometimes a certain area of uncertainty. How can you make yourself less stressed by taking alternative means? Through simple breathing exercises and workouts, you can easily achieve your goal without having to waste money on unnecessary consumer products. Just be happy that managing stress can be so easy and cost effective for you.
