You want to save money, and that's probably one of the reasons that you shop at your local discount retail store. They have everything you need, and at a reasonable price. But are you doing all you can to save money, even at these discount stores? Following are some ways to save even more at Target, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart.

• Get a REDCard
REDCard is Target's credit card program, and it offers customers an additional 5% off of the store's already low prices—online or in-store. The card comes in three different forms: Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card, and Target Debit Card. There are no restrictions or limits on the 5% that you save, and there's no annual fee; however, there is a $35 penalty fee and a $25 fee for returned payments. Apply for your REDCard on Target's website or pick up an application in your local Target store.

• Sign Up for Target's Mobile Coupon Program
With Target's mobile coupon program, you get coupons sent directly to your cell phone once a month. The perk? Simply show the coupon—on your phone—at checkout, and the cashier will scan the barcode so you get your savings. You can sign up for the mobile coupon program on Target's website or by texting COUPONS to TARGET (827438).

• Buy the Wal-Mart Brand Product
Wal-Mart's Sam's Choice and Equate brands are extremely similar to brand-name competitors' quality—but they're significantly less expensive. The big surprise is that most of the time, you and your family won't even notice that you're using the Wal-Mart brand versus one of the most expensive name brands.

• Bring Ads from Competitor Stores to Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart will meet and greet any other store's prices on a particular product. In many cases, doing the research to find better deals and then exposing those deals to Wal-Mart does actually save you a bundle of cash.

• Check K-Mart's Website Before Shopping
K-Mart regularly updates their website with various sales that are currently happening online and in stores. Be sure to check out their website's "Weekly Ad & Deals" tab to find out what's on sale that week—and take advantage of those sales!

• Get K-Mart Coupons Emailed to You
It's easy to sign up for K-Mart's coupon program. All you have to do is visit their website and scroll to the bottom of the homepage. Click on "K-Mart Deals", and then click on "Sign Up for Email Savings." Follow the instructions and look forward to your coupons being delivered right to your inbox.

These are just a few ways that you can save even more at your favorite discount retail stores. What other tips do you have for people interesting in saving more at Target, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart?
