Perhaps you’ve just purchased that dream home – minus the dream flooring, or maybe your family is expanding and you are making way for a nursery, or perhaps you just need a change to something new. No matter your homes needs, you can find whatever you are looking for at your fingertips by a visit to your local carpet store. There you will find a wide variety and selection to choose from.
Making the proper renovation choice, however, can be quite the complex matter. Do you want carpet? Laminate? Vinyl? Hardwood? What color? What pattern? With so many choices at hand you can feel quite overwhelmed. One consideration that should be at the top of your list is your budget. How much are you willing to invest for your homes needs? Much will depend on the square footage of space that needs replaced. For a small space, like a kitchen or bathroom the budget will be considerably less than replacing the surface of an entire 3 bedroom house. Also, factor the quality of surface you desire into your budget. While many feel less is more, when it comes to floor surfaces that is not always the case because you want it to look great and last for years to come.
A second consideration may be what you want from the surface. Are you replacing or installing a surface into a high traffic area prone to dirt and debris? If so, Laminate or Vinyl may be the economical best choice for you. Do you have pets that will be frequenting the area of surface to be replaced? If you have a dog, experience has proven the durability of quality hardwood flooring; it is well worth the investment. Are you looking for a sound absorbing surface for a nursery? Perhaps a quality Berber carpet would be your best choice. This carpeting is fairly durable, comes in a wide array of colors and textures and is perfect for a growing family.
When it comes to color selection you may want to remember one real estate truth, neutral is best. While some may feel neutral colors are bland or boring, you can actually find many soft, restful shades that speak well of home sweet home, yet are easy conversions if you someday decided to sell your home. If you do decide to go with a bold red, orange or green, use an equally offsetting bold choice in surfaces.
Did you know that some carpet and rug patterns can not only enhance a home’s surface, but also be used as accents on the home’s walls? Perhaps you have chosen a striking cherry hardwood surface, look for an equally eloquent and striking area rug to hang on the wall of a main room to give the room focus and beauty without detracting from the newly renovated surface.
If you find you are still a little unsure of how to renovate your home with that perfect new surface, why not contact the experts at your local carpet store they have the experience and know-how to meet your every need.
