Public Awareness: Safeguard Your Personal Privacy
Our privacy is something that we can only grip on to and something that we can only considered ours. There are those people who don’t mind putting their lives in the prying eyes of the public but most of us would usually prefer to keep our personal and private lives intact. Yet, with the planned union of the United States, Mexico and Canada, people’s privacy is being put to stake. The union plan of these three countries is called the North American Union (NAU). Some of us might have been still on the blind side with regards to this issue. However, it’s high time that we raise pubic awareness regarding this. This is a pressing issue that concerns us all because to begin with, our privacy will be scrutinized as part of the union process. This article stands on the middle ground though, not being for or against the North American Union. It only aims to safeguard the personal lives and privacy of people.
To date, the said issue is still a heated debate. So that you get to have a clear picture of the issue let us first discuss what NAU is all about. This is actually a deliberate conjectural economic union of the United States, Canada and Mexico. This is somewhat patterned to that of the European Union. Part of the union is the creation of a new North American dollar called the Amero. This is actually a pressing issue especially for world leaders, that this may be a form of some conspiracy theories. This had been long planned since the mid-nineteenth century that aside from the union of Canada, Mexico and USA, it will also include Central and South American countries and as well as the Caribbean. However, later in 2005 it was found out that the union isn’t only planned but has already been implemented as well. This eventually led to the formation of Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. According to them, the rationale behind this is only to radically alter the economic and political status quos between the countries involved.
Nevertheless, it was only when the documents coming from the WikiLeaks that the public became aware of the portentous plans of this American Union. The name WikiLeaks has been ringing into our ears during these recent times. It is actually an international non-profit organization created by the locked up Australian internet activist, Julian Assange. These documents issued by the WikiLeaks indeed revealed shocking truths that left most of us in distress. I believe we may be aware of the illegal entries of aliens in the borderlines of the country. Contrary to our notion, this entry wasn’t at all due to frenzied market forces and random acts. To tell you the truth, all these illegal immigration incidents are actually deliberated, planned, aided, and to top it all, funded!
It was utterly stated in the secret document that according to US Ambassador Paul Cellucci there will be alterations in the existing borders of these autonomous nations. These borders may stand still however information of all the people living in these counties shall be exchanged as part of the super state law imposing effort to manage security in these countries. Now, that just puts our personal information and as well as private lives at wager. The alarming thing is that scrutiny of people’s personal information may guise in a form of social media or networking which is truly beguiling. This has a huge tendency to mislead us in disclosing such private information especially now that people are too distracted with social networking. Just imagine all these 650 million people on Facebook sharing their personal information in public. Now that you know about this personal information scrutiny it’s high time that we protect our privacy. Here’s how you may do it.
1. Decide Your Reason for Social Networking- If you’re uncertain about it then better not go on with it. Though you may have interests in politics or sports perhaps it can’t be helped that you’ll be discussing personal issues over this site.
2. Secure Your Systems- You may do so by using strong and unique passwords. Also, when you’re browsing turn on secured browsing feature. Be sure to lock your mobile phone and PC when not in use.
3. Use Services Only with Policy- When you sign up for these websites, choose only the one with privacy policies in it.
4. Choose the Right Settings- When using social networking sites you are not really assured of optimum protection so at least observe the right privacy settings. Do not use words that would help crack the password of your account.
5. Limit Availability- This simply means that you do not just keep on adding people even those that you do not personally know. This may somehow hurt their feelings a bit but still, your privacy is far more important above all.
Those are just some of the ways on how we can protect our personal information. You can take as far as you can to protect your private life. We can also help raise public awareness by joining NAUForums at NAUForums.com. Let us all conspire and let’s start acting or we will be acted upon.
