Picture rave cuffs are also called kandi cuffs. They are given out at raves as a token of friendship by kandi kids, who are frequenters of the rave scene. Picture rave cuffs are made with bright-colored pony beads. They consist of multiple strings of different-colored beads that are woven together in basic peyote flat stitch to create a picture. The pictures made with the beads can be anything from whimsical food to cartoon characters.

1
Cut the elastic thread length to twice as long as the distance between your outstretched hands. String on the first row of beads, which are the beads going left to right at the bottom of the rave cuff pattern. Take the right end of the elastic thread and insert it through the first bead and pull it through. Pull the elastic thread tight to make the string of beads form a complete circle.
2
Slide the first bead of the second row of the pattern onto the thread. Move the bead over to sit above the second bead of the first row. Insert the thread into the third bead of the first row and pull it through. String on the next bead, move it to sit one bead over from the first second-row bead (or skip a bead in the first row). Insert the thread into a bead on the first row that is next to the third bead and pull it through. Continue beading in this pattern until you reach the end of the second row. Insert the thread through two beads, one in the first row and then one in the second. Pull the ends of thread tight to bring the beads together.
3
Start the third row of beads in the same manner: Slide on a bead, skip a bead, then insert the thread through the bead in the second row and pull it through. The beads will fit into the spaces that were created in the second row. When you reach the end of the row, insert the thread into two beads -- one in the row below it, one in the row you just finished. Pull the thread ends tight.
4
Continue adding rows of beads to your rave bracelet in this manner until you have reached the top row of the pattern. Insert the end of the thread through the space between two beads and bring it back up. Fold the end over to make a loop with it and insert the thread end into the loop and pull it tight to make a knot. Tie two more knots in the same way and then cut off the extra thread. Slide the knot into a bead to hide it. Do the same with the other end of string at the bottom of the cuff.
