Blood circulation problems are primary cause of several health related issues. Improper circulation of blood through arteries and veins results in inadequacy of oxygen and nutrients in our organs and tissues. This adversely impacts proper functionality of body systems such as reproductive, respiratory, cardiovascular and nervous system.

Individuals who want to improve their body circulation rate but don’t know how to or don’t have enough time to dedicate to it, here are some very handy tips:

Exercise daily - This is one of the most effective ways to enhance circulation rate. Try to exercise 30 minute a day. Some physical activities like jogging, swimming, walking and biking are adequate enough to improve the circulation rate. In case, you have time constraint and are not used to doing such arduous exercise daily, then you can stick to walking around your office and home regularly. You can also do some simple exercises while sitting in your home like, tapping your thighs, knees and rotating arms in small circles.

Eat smart - Eat healthy by avoiding too much saturated fat (fat dairy products, bakery goods, coconut oil etc) but also maintain the balance of fat in the body by consuming healthy fats such as omega-3 fatty acids. The rich sources of these healthy fats are sunflower seeds, fish, nuts, sesame seeds and olive oil etc. Eat plenty of green vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Reduce consumption of sugar, salt and add up more healthy fiber in your diet.

Drink healthy - Another method to build up circulation is by drinking lots of water. Instead of drinking ice cool water, try plain or little warm water. Always remember that other types of drinks like caffeine, alcohol, sugar is always going to dehydrate your body. But as our blood mainly consists of water so any inadequacy of water in body may have adverse effects and reduce blood-circulation rate.

Warm bath - This therapy greatly helps in circulation of blood. Dipping your feet in warm water or taking a hot water bath results in faster and smoother movement of blood, thus enhancing circulation rate.

Take herbal supplements and vitamins - Incorporate enough vitamins and natural herbs in your diet as these are very effective in improving circulation rate. Vitamin E enhances circulation and also produces new blood vessels. Plenty of herbal supplements, such as garlic, ginkgo improves the circulation rate.

Keep your feet up- After spending your day at work try to elevate your feet for some time. If you are not comfortable in keeping it up, then put a pillow below your feet while sleeping.

Say bye to stress - Mental worry, over work can cause serious circulation problems. So avoid being stressed out and keep yourself calm and happy. Find yourself a good movie to watch, take proper sleep, go out on a sumptuous dinner party and try some relaxation exercises such as yoga stretches and deep breathing in order to keep your body away from stress.

Avoid smoking - Smokers should be aware as research has proved that nicotine is a major cause of circulation problems. Smoking causes high cholesterol and hardening of arteries this leads to improper blood circulation.
