Finding the right one to do the commercial printing service for you is highly essential for your prints.
|
Commercial printing can be a breeze to do, such a simple process if you follow some steps any commercial printing company would suggest:
1) Understand what you need to print
Make a general list of all the prints you need so when you meet up with your printers you can easily pinpoint everything.
2) Think about people who will most likely use your prints
Your target users can help you estimate just how much you need to print and which colors or materials to use depending on what you think this group prefer.
3) Find your partner printer
Go ahead and start finding a printer that looks at you as a partner and not just a sale, one that can help you in the entire process and not just let you do everything on your own. Find printers who are competent, friendly and professional. They must have a good record with past clients so start asking around before settling with one. Make sure that their cheap rates will not be paid with poor quality prints that take forever to print.
4) Start your art
Go ahead and do your design. It may help too if you use the same program your chosen printer use. Should you have difficulty getting the same program use the most common design programs like photoshop, corel draw or illustrator. Carefully place your pictures and text together and should everything not work out as you pictured it – hire a designer to do your art for you. Most printing companies have in-house designers.
5) Special notes your printers will want to leave with you before you do any submission:
• Art file type
Your art file must be saved in file types printers require. It would be best to ask your printer or check their “checklists” for the file types before finalizing your art. File types are normally JPG and PDF.
• Font file
Your fonts especially for great looking designs are far different from the normal available ones which may look different with some printers who have a different program used. Remember to imbed your font file in your design file and check again that it is imbedded before submission.
• Colors
Printers use CMYK colors to create all those outstanding prints you see, make sure you use the same colors to achieve the same thing. You wouldn’t want to design and pick out a color and end up seeing a print totally different from what made right? If you saved your file with RGB colors convert it to CMYK.
• Resolutions
Your design should have high resolutions if you want to see professional prints. Anything lower than 300 dpi is considered low resolution so make sure you save your files to 300 or more.
• Print marks
There are warning zones in your design too, printers call it the caution zone and it is located ¼ or 1/8 of an inch away from the line where your prints will be cut, make sure nothing extends beyond that caution line most specially your pictures and text.
Any Commercial printing company will always want you, you are business after all. Finding the right one to do the commercial printing service for you is highly essential for your prints so make sure you find the perfect printer who is not just in it for the sale.
