Nice morning, you open your computer to read emails as part of your morning routine, you opened your email client, no new emails, so you opened your favorite browser and see error message “page not found” then you found out that you do not have internet, you started troubleshooting your connection and see every networking devices working properly, in fact your smart phone is working. Does it sound familiar?
Here is another one. When you open your media player to play your favorite songs but no sounds is coming out from your speaker? Does it sound familiar too?
Frustrating and irritating, it may be Windows Driver Error. Troubleshooting Driver Errors is easy and free if you know what to do. Device Drivers are software and for it is easier to fix than hardware. So let me share to you what would you need to do to troubleshoot your computer with Driver Errors in general.
Troubleshooting Option 1 – Driver Reinstallation.
Windows Driver files are software which is very much susceptible to corruption like other computer files due to virus infection, windows update, wrong updates, etc. Reinstallation of driver file is the easiest and fastest option. Here is how:
1. Open Device Manager. Go to Start >> Run >> type in “devmgmt.msc” hit Enter key. Device Manager window will open.
2. Select from the list the device you want to troubleshoot.
3. Right click the device then choose Update Driver. Hardware Update Wizard will open. Follow the procedure until completion of the installation.
You will be asked to locate your driver files.
Above process may be accomplished differently if depending on your driver installation type. If your drivers file type is executable, then you just need to execute it to start installation.
Note: It is very important that the driver you’re installing is correct and updated as possible. Manufacturer’s support page is the best source driver files.
Troubleshooting Option 2 – Windows Update
This option may be one of the easiest options but Microsoft will give you generic driver for your device. This also not guarantees driver files availability.
1. Open Device Manager. Go to Start >> Run >> type in “devmgmt.msc” hit Enter key. Device Manager window will open.
2. Double click the device you want to troubleshoot. Device Property window will open.
3. Go to Driver tab.
4. Click “Update Driver”. “Hardware Update Wizard” will open. Choose “Yes, this time only” from “Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software” option. Follow succeeding procedure.
Troubleshooting Option 3 – Window Driver Updater

2. After installation click “Scan Now”, follow very dimple procedure to complete the process. Other options lengthy procedure is replaced with one click doing everything fast and effective.
Note: I like using this tool for new installation especially if I do not have the driver for devices. This solves the problem of searching, downloading and installation of wrong drivers to your device.
