Once you get your PhD you can expect to earn an average annual salary of $87,000, with the higher levels of pay in this field exceeding $110,000 per year. Your income as an experimental psychologist will depend in part on your geographical location and level of experience, but it always tends to be high because of the level of specialization required for this field.
Most experimental psychologists work for private research centers. Some experimental psychologists work for businesses, government organizations and nonprofit organizations doing experimentation, research and statistics. Others work as professors or researchers in universities. There are many opportunities in this field and many rewards, as long as you’re willing and determined to finish the hard work required to get there.
