Our everyday life is full of mathematical equations. Starting from cooking the food to buying the groceries, from counting the time to accomplishing day to day tasks, every work needs mathematical equations. Many of us afraid to do equations on paper, but unknowingly we accomplish so many mathematical equations without any mistake. These equations are actually fun to do. Many times we watch kids unwilling to do mathematics because of their complex theories. Kids often find these difficult to grab because in mathematics we have to be restricted within some rules and regulations.

Not that we need to learn mathematics for the sake of earning good grades in exams only, but to develop their logical and reasoning skills also. You can expect a mathematical equation to have a predictable outcome, and precise steps must be followed in order to attain that result. This particular subject teaches us to be disciplined; in every step of an equation, we have to follow a particular rule. Research proved that people, who are good in math in their early years, develop a sharp critical thinking skill in their later age. It is found that all good chess players and puzzle solvers are basically very good equation solvers.

It is very important to make kids aware of the mathematical world in a very early age. Parents may think that it is very tough to teach kids how to do the mathematical equations. But in their home only they can make their kids acquainted with this world. Our home is full of opportunities for kids to learn mathematics and at the same time building their self confidence. This teaching learning process also helps in nurturing good parent kid relation. There are some simple steps that parents can follow to teach kids math. These are briefly discussed below:-

1. There are some kids who find it difficult to do the equations. Being a parent, you first need to find out where your kid is facing problem. You can also schedule a session with your kid’s teacher so that the problem areas can be identified. But remember one thing that you need to be supportive to your child and always encourage the child for accomplishing the equation.

2. Your measuring cups and spoons can become a good source of mathematical learning of your child. You can assign the task to your child to measure the rice for you or to count the number of plates served on the table. By this way kids will be interested towards doing the basic counting.

3. The grocery shop is another place for your child to learn the equations. Most grocery store aisles are numbered giving toddlers and preschoolers a chance to practice number recognition. Asking your child to retrieve a particular number of items from the shelf gives young kids a chance to practice counting.

4. Provide your child number of mathematical puzzle games that can help in building logical as well as mathematical reasoning skills.

5. Math is a progressive subject which builds on prior math knowledge. Test your child's knowledge of the basic math concepts in everyday situations. For example, check for number recognition by asking your child to identify random numbers on street signs.

The skill of mathematics not only teach your child to solve critical equations, but help them in learning practical skills like estimating, grouping, measuring, predicting and telling time. Being a parent, try to make this equation a fun to experience and give your child a chance to explore this world.
