With all swimwear, you want to create the illusion of proportion. Flaunt and work your assets. Remember, the best fashion accessory is confidence – and there’s nothing sexier than confidence.
As Spring Break is soon approaching, we’re reminded of two things – 1: I’m going to need a bikini soon and 2: I’m going to need a bikini body even sooner. The third thing we realize is, ‘Great. What looks good on me?’ So, after much testing and deliberation, we’ve composed a list of tips on figure-flatting suits to boost your confidence and accentuate your most appealing features.

If your topside needs some more emphasis, consider going with a ruffled top. Ruffles create and speak more volumes for your body. Avoid wearing horizontal stripped bikinis, which cause you to look more like a ruler. The goal is to make you look curvier. Your go-to swimwear is definitely a string bikini that hugs your body.

Pouches are only cute on Kangaroos, so if you have one and want to hide it, try finding a one-piece diagonal suit. Diagonal stripes, ruches and ombre create the illusion of a clinched waist. As an added bonus, they divert attention to other parts of the body.

Also, high-waisted pants are in, so why not high-waisted bottoms to conceal your tummy? Women who are pear-shaped sometimes have more junk in the trunk. To even out the attention to your bottom half, the trick is to have everyone’s eyes at the top. Look for bright colored tops and dark bottoms. Halter and strapless tops are all fabulous for focus on the upper body.

If you’re bigger on your torso, avoid skimpy string bikini tops. Instead, opt for thicker straps for support. Halter maillots are excellent for support, and colorful prints help to tone down your curves.

Women with hourglass figures are lucky when selecting swimwear, because they have accentuated waists with a balanced top and balanced bottom. There is no need to magically create an illusion of symmetry that is already obviously there. Halter and triangular tops look great on these women.

With all swimwear, you want to create the illusion of proportion. Flaunt and work your assets. Remember, the best fashion accessory is confidence – and there’s nothing sexier than confidence.
