In one such effort to streamline the job recruitment in various Group “B” and “C” categories in Delhi, the DSSSB or Delhi Subordinate Staff Selection Board, has been providing an immense benefit for the people.
The Delhi Subordinate Staff Selection Board was formed in 1997 in Delhi by the Government of National Capital Region of Delhi territory, with the sole aim of recruitment of personnel in the different non-gazetted categories. The various posts are usually under the departments belonging to Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, Delhi Electric Supply Undertaking, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and NDMC or New Delhi Municipal Council and those bodies which are present under its jurisdiction.
Purpose:
The purpose of the formation of the board was to recruit competent and skilled people through written tests and other formats as well as through personal interviews. Over the years, the DSSSB has established itself as a nodal agency for testing different candidates for the various posts by fair means, ensuring that the best candidates get the job. With such principles in force behind the working of the board, it has come as a relief for the thousands of eligible candidates, who did not have any source for recruitment. Now that the Delhi Subordinate Staff Selection Board is in place, it has come as a great help for the thousands of people, who wanted to get into government jobs, and this is another reason for the popularity of the Delhi Subordinate Staff Selection Board in such a small time of about one and half decades. The spectrum of jobs into which the organisation helps people for getting jobs is very wide spread but is limited to the Group “B” and “C” categories.
Need of the times:
In various government departments, there are plenty of personnel required for which there has to be a streamlined system of recruitment. In earlier days, before the time of this board, the organisations found it difficult to carry out the recruitment process and also it was difficult on part of the candidates to know about the vacancies that were advertised from time to time. This discrepancy brought about a lot of disgruntlement as well as inefficiency. To tide over the issue, the Delhi government brought the board into existence which also has its own website now.
Various posts are advertised from time to time, and people are required to look up these advertisements and their details from the internet as well as from the dailies in Delhi. Interested candidates can put in their applications after looking at the advertisements and go for the written exams or interviews for the various posts. Some of the commonly advertised posts are for stenographers, nurses and midwifes, school teachers, and various other office assistants.
