Home Remedies for Aphids, Get Rid of Aphids Naturally

Aphids, one of the world's most damage causing pests, are member of super family Aphidoidea. Home remedies for aphids can protect plants from these pests aggression and does not cause any side effects to harm plant's life span.
Aphids are amongst world's most damage causing pests which can destroy crops in a vast area, home remedies for aphids can provide effective and economic protection from these pests to gardeners and farmers. Aphids are member of super family Aphidoidea and are sap sucking insects. These are mostly found in temperate climate and can travel long distances. Around 250 species of these are well known pests for forestry and agriculture. Aphids suck sap from the plants which is vital for their growth and production, while sucking this sap aphids also secrete their saliva into the plant which is toxic and causes plant death over a period of time. One can also prepare a mixture by mixing three parts of lukewarm water and one part of horticulture oil and few drops of dish wash soap. Spray this mixture once in a week and continue for at least four weeks to completely wipe off aphids from the plants. This is another one of the easiest and effective home remedies for aphids.

Take two cups of chopped tomato leaves and soak them with two cups of water overnight. In the morning strain the mixture with either cheesecloth or a fine strainer and leave the leaves out. Add two cups of water more to the mixture and spray well on all the parts of the plants particularly under the leaves. This is another one of the effective home remedies for aphids.

Garlic provides one of the effective home remedies for aphids. Crush 4-5 cloves of garlic and soak them with two tablespoons of mineral oil. Allow this mixture to stay overnight, in the morning strain the mixture and remove garlic pieces, add one pint of water and a teaspoon of dish wash soap. Keep this mixture in bottle and use it after diluting it. Whenever needed for spraying take two tablespoons of the mixture and add it to a pint of water and spray on the plants. For the first time spray on a small part of the plant and see if mixture is not harmful for the plant, if there is yellowing or drying of leaves then dilute the mixture more with water before use. This is one of the most effective home remedies for aphids.

If your garden gets frequently affected by aphids attracting predators who feast on aphids is the best and one of the most dependable home remedies for aphids. Grow mint, fennel, dill, yarrow and clover plants in the garden. These plants attract bugs like lacewings and ladybugs, these bugs will attack and eat aphids present in the garden and provide long lasting solution to the problem.

Frequently check the garden and do look under the leaves carefully to take early steps before problem settles down. Water your plants with strong stream of water as it can knock off aphids from the plants.
