However, for someone from the U.S. mainland, Hawaii is truly the ideal location for whale-watching, both in terms of climate and accessibility.
Arrange a boat tour:
As we mentioned, you can actually see whales play around in the ocean even from the "lanai" of your resort room; but if you want to get closer and see the whales in their natural habitat, you can do this by going on a boat tour. Whales are curious creatures and once they see a boatload of people trying to get a peek at them, they will, as often as not, try to reciprocate and get closer. Sounds fun, right?
Of course, there are some rules to be followed as whales are extremely large creatures, the splashes and waves they create can seriously shake up a boat and douse the unsuspecting watcher in a salty cascade.
