Vincent was one of the founders of the Rockport Art Association and exhibited regularly in both regional and national shows. He is also an important member of the Cape Ann Art colony. His works were well placed in the exhibitions at New York’s National Academy, salmagundi club, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine arts and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Paintings can be used in many different ways such as: Decoration, Psychological effects, Kids thinking, hidden secrets, Living life etc. Harry Aiken Vincent (1864-1931) was born in Chicago, Illinois and was more interested in paintings from his childhood. He claiming to be self taught with a desire for marine and waterfront scenes also had some training in arts in his hometown. He shows special interest in themes of the common place in the working harbor such as unloading fish, drying sails and so on. Before returning to America, he spent most of the years traveling and painting in Europe at the outbreak of world war |. He plays an important role in the world of art.
In the year 1918, he settled in Rockport of Massachusetts, where he spends almost his life. He was a key player in the Rockport, MA art colony where he serves as first vice president in 1921 and also served as charter member of the North Shore Art Association.

Now, Vincent’s work is in such well known collections as the Museum of Fine arts, Boston and the Butler Institute of American Art. Harry Vincent and His Contemporaries and it included in the book under the same name.
Most of his paintings won many rewards at the salmagundi club and the New York water color club. He painted his seascapes on sight that commonly associated the Cape Ann fishermen out to the sea to get the naturalness of their regular activities. To be more familiar with the Cape Ann fisherman he lives on the edge of Inner harbor. This is considered as one of the classic views of a Rockport harbor that done by Vincent’s painting style. He used bright colors, oil colors in his painting that gives more liveliness to his scenes.
Some of his famous paintings were: Early Morning, Gloucester harbor, drying the Nets, Cape Ann Cove, Waiting for the Tide, Morning Chores, Sunrise, Inner Harbor, Pigeon Cove, Rockport, Rafting up, and Gloucester Harbor in oil colors. Nowadays, many painters inspired from his style of painting and impressionism.
