When shopping for phones, it's likely you'll be more attracted to today's high-end smartphones such as the HTC Sensation XE. What's not to like about these top of line handsets. This particular phone sports a 4.3 inch S-LCD display. This will give you an enhanced gaming and video streaming experience. It comes with an 8 megapixel camera that allows users to enjoy more from high-quality multi-media. When performance comes to mind, you will be in awe with its 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. This is one of the most powerful in the industry. Lastly, the phone is pre-installed with Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread). The Taiwanese firm promised an Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update soon. However, high-end smartphones come at a price. They can cost you an arm and a leg. If you're looking for a phone on a budget, you might be more interested in the Explorer.
The Taiwanese phone manufacturer is known for its high-end Android handsets. However, it is also widely known for its entry-level handsets. Back in May of 2010, it introduced the Wildfire. This entry-level phone proved to be a hit. It was not as expensive as the Sensation. However, it did offer an Android experience people were looking for. In October of 2011, the company released the HTC Explorer. Although not as powerful as the Sensation XE, it does have all the features needed to enjoy the platform.
Like the Wildfire, this new affordable handset sports a 3.2 inch touch screen. This is enough to make you enjoy more from browsing the web, playing games, and running apps. The Wildfire's display sports a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The new budget phone may have the same screen size. However, it offers more resolution. It comes with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This means that videos recorded on its 3.15 megapixel camera will look much better.
Performance-wise, the Sensation XE is currently the most powerful in HTC's roster. Although the HTC Explorer does not come with a processor as powerful as the XE's, it does offer enough processing power that will allow you to run apps smoothly. It comes with a 600 MHz single-core processor under the hood. Although you will not be able to multi-task as much as you would like, it is capable of running tasks normally executed on smartphones.
The best thing about this new handset is its price. You never have to spend an arm and a leg to get your hands on the HTC Explorer. This is what makes this handset an ideal budget phone.
