Baccarat is the oldest of all games played in modern casinos. The objective of the game is to predict which of the two hands (Banker or Player) that are about to be dealt will be closer to having a value of 9.

In Baccarat the player competes against the banker. Wagers are placed in the Tie, Banker and Player areas shown on the table. Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Traditionally, the shoe contains anywhere from six to eight standard 52-card deck without jokers. Most online casino baccarat however is played using eight 52-card decks. Each wager placed is treated as a separate wager against the banker.

Two hands of cards are dealt, one for the Player and one for the Banker. Each hand will contain either two or three cards.

Online Baccarat Table Limits and Payouts

For each hand, there is a $5.00 minimum bet on each hand, a $200.00 limit on each bet position (Banker, Tie & Player). The table limit is $600.00

If the Banker wins, the payout is 1:1 less 5% for the winning bets. If the Player wins, even money is paid (1:1), and if there is a Tie, winning bets will be paid 8 to 1.

Online Baccarat Game Play Mechanics

When starting the Baccarat game for the first time the Baccarat table is empty – no cards or wagers are on the table and the default wager amount ($5) is active.

You now decide how much you want to wager and what bet you want to play and then place your wager(s) on the table. To place a wager on any of these bets simply left click on the table to increase the size of your bet and right click to decrease.

Place your bet(s) on the table in the area labeled Player, Tie, Banker. Once you have completed placing your wager(s) you can start the game by clicking on the DEAL button. Two hands of cards are dealt, one for the Player and one for the Banker. Each hand will contain either two or three cards. If the first two cards dealt to the Player or the Banker are equal to five (5) or less, then the respective hand will be dealt a third card.

The winning hand will be the one whose value is closest to nine (9). The value of a hand is calculated by adding up the value of the cards. Face cards and 10s have no value in Baccarat. Aces are worth 1 point. All other cards are counted at face value. Values that exceed nine are adjusted by removing the tens column

For example, if you have a hand of 9 and 7, 9+7=16, the tens column is removed, and the final hand value is 6.

Once the winning hand is determined the game is over. If the hand you bet on wins you will be paid out.

After the first two cards are dealt to both the Player and Dealer, a third card may be dealt but the player does not ask for a third card. Additional cards are subject to the third card rule.

When the Player and Banker hands equal the same total, the hand is declared a Tie. If you did not bet on a Tie, your initial bet will be returned as a push.

If the value of the cards in either the Player's Hand or the Banker's Hand is an 8 or a 9 (a "natural") after receiving their initial two cards then no more cards shall be dealt to either hand.

If the value of the cards in the Banker's hand on the first two cards is 0 to 7 inclusive, the Player's hand shall draw in accordance with the third card rules. When the Player's hand is completed then Banker's hand is played out.

Once the banker's hand is complete, the Player's hand is compared to the Banker's hand and win(s), loss(es) or tie(s) are determined and your casino account balance is adjusted accordingly.

To play again click on the DEAL button.

Previous Wins History Feature

A list of the previous wins is displayed on the right hand side of the screen. The letter 'B' indicates the Banker's hand, the letter 'P' indicates the Player's hand and a Tie is indicated by a 'T'. Consecutive wins by either the Banker or the Player are displayed in the same row.

A new row is displayed when the Banker or Player starts a new winning streak. A Tie is considered part of the same winning streak and is always displayed in the same row as the previous winner.

Third Card Rules

Depending on the value of the hands upon receiving the first two cards, the Player's hand may draw a third card or not. If the value is 0 to five, the hand must draw a third card. If it is 6 or 7, it must stand. And if it is 8 or 9, it is a NATURAL, and both hands stand.

After the Player's Hand acts on a third card draw, the Banker's Hand receives a third card according to predefined rules. If the hand value is 0 to 2, the hand must draw. If it is 3 to 6, the Player's third card will determine whether the Banker's hand should draw or stand. If it is 7, it must stand. And if it is 8 or 9, it is a NATURAL, and both hands stand.

Similar to what is stated above, if the Banker's hand value is 3 to 6, the decision whether to stand or draw depends on the Player's third cards. If the hand is 3, it must stand if the Player's third card is 8, or draw if the third card is an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 9. If the hand value is 4, the hand stands if the Player's third card is either 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, or Ace, or draw on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7.

If the Banker's Hand is 5, it should draw if the Player's third card is 4, 5, 6, or 7, or stand on 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, or Ace. If the Banker's Hand is 6, it should draw if the Player's third card is 6 or 7, or stand on 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, or Ace.

If the Player's hand does not draw a third card, the Banker must draw if the hand value is either 3, 4, or 5, and must stand if it is 6.
