Green or Eco-Friendly Interior design is one of the less popular practices. However, in the near future this type of design will become very important. With the original form of interior design, it’s more concerned with style, functionality, minimalism, ethnic flavored, and/or contemporary themes. Although green designs aim to create style, its main objective is to respect the environment.
Although over 70 percent of people worldwide would like to live a lifestyle closer to nature green interior design is not really accepted by the people. People love to go to log cabins, and take vacations to places that that is closer to nature. People love to breathe fresh air, which is no prominent in big cities and places with artificial climate control. Would you rather live your life in a space with "processed" air and man-made light, or a place abundant in natural light and natural air?

If you do a little looking, you will find that there are many eco-friendly products available. You can find paint that is much safer that the traditional choices which are very dangerous. "Eco-paints" are made without dangerous chemicals and are odorless. Although these paints have many good qualities, they can be a bit expensive. If you are on a budget you may be reluctant to choose this type.
There are also green wallpapers you can use. These wallpapers use water-based ink that is much safer than the regular ink used. The paper it’s on is chlorine-free and comes from trees that are groomed just for this purpose.
Now that were through discussing the walls, let’s consider the carpeting. The problem with the carpets commonly used, is that when they are installed lots of dangerous inhalants are released into the indoor air. These poisonous compounds could remain for years, and certainly no one wants them and their families inhaling these toxins. Eco-friendly floors save the worry. You could choose from materials like cork, glass tiles, stones, woods, bamboo, and recycled metal.
They also have something call modular carpet tile squares. These tiles look like a regular carpet, but are actually a series of tiles held to the ground by a type of adhesive. The cool thing about these tiles is that, they can be recycled repeatedly so if you get any stain on them you can have it recycled while you replace it with a new tile. It is a very convenient addition to your interior design NYC.
Bamboo is a material that can have many uses in a green interior design. It is great for floors. Many of your furnishings can be made of or complimented with bamboo. Bathroom and kitchen floors and walls often utilize recycled metal or aluminum materials. Sometime brass is used, and all are considered fairly stylish. You can have them in a polished, rough or matte finish. Sustainable and Reclaimed Wood can also be used for many of your furnishings.
