Motherhood is the most beautiful part of a woman's life. It's a heavenly feeling to nurture a life in the womb. But this heavenly comes with its set of complications. Special care needs to be taken to welcome the special guest to this world. And the care during pregnancy ranges from physical to psychological needs. Just few healthy tips can ensure a healthy, smiling gift of god, the baby.
Pregnancy can sometimes be stressful times. Stress can be treated but when a pregnant woman worries about things like money, the health of her baby or their own lack of sleep and the change in hormone levels does not make it easy. Stress is a feeling of being threatened or upset. Studies have shown that it can affect her unborn baby. This occurs because the stress hormone is passed onto the baby as well which can culminate in complications for the fetus. There can be other factors too.

Pregnancy care(Prenatal care) is very important. A thorough check up between the 6th and the 8th week is needed, which will include ultrasound, urine and blood testing, session with the doctor regarding the medical history of the mother etc. Other tests may be needed if the mother or her baby are at risk for any problems. An issue of eight gain remains during this period. Underweight or overweight both are unacceptable and certain measures need to taken in either case. The diet of the woman should be taken special care. She must consume 450-500 extra calories. A certain amount of Folic acid keeps the baby away from brain and nervous system issues.

5. The quality of sleep – the mother must go to bed at the same time every night, and avoid eating too close to bedtime because it can cause heartburn.

6. Gentle Exercise - Swimming and walking are ideal during pregnancy. This helps to release natural endorphins that help to feel good.

7. Eating a healthy diet - foods to included in diet during pregnancy are bananas, broccoli, avocados, citrus fruits and wholemeal bread, pasta and rice.

8. Mood swings-everyone reacts in different ways shows. Stress symptoms may include: guide to be angry, biting their nails, inability to concentrate, loss of appetite, skin problems, frequent cough and colds, indigestion, tight muscles, headaches and rapid heartbeat. Someone must comfort the mother by talking to her.

Douching must be avoided. It could force air into the vagina, which can cause an air embolism. The vagina doesn't require cleansing in addition to normal bathing. Douching disrupts the helpful bacteria that keep the vagina clean. A sauna or hot tub must not be used. The high heat raises the risk of miscarriage and birth defects.
