Printer toner cartridges are the lifeline of inkjet and laser printers. Once they run out of ink, you need to replace them with new toner cartridges that can prove to be an expensive option. In today’s time of innovations, recycling the old inkjet toner cartridge is a sensible decision.

The high-quality inkjet toner filled in the cartridges mostly used in printers are costly because of the latest technology used in it and also because of the high demand in the market. With the help of recycling old cartridges, one can save a lot of cost and be environmentally responsible. Recycled printer cartridges are those that are made from reworked waste or parts of old printer cartridges.

Some of the benefits of recycling of printer toner cartridges are discussed below:

1. Reduces the load from the overflowing landfills: The process of recycling toner cartridge has a positive impact on the environment because useless cartridges are often thrown into landfills, which are already overflowing with rubbish.

2. Conservation of natural resources: The raw materials used in manufacturing the fresh new toner cartridge include natural resources such as timber, oil/petroleum, water and minerals. If the used cartridges are refilled, the need of manufacturing new ones would reduce to a great extent, which would further reduce the need for these natural resources.

3. Saves energy: Another very important reason for preferring recycling of inkjet toner cartridge over manufacturing new ones, is that a lot of energy is consumed in the manufacturing process. This energy can be saved if the cartridges are recycled.

4. Cuts cost: It is obvious that the cost of manufacturing a fresh new toner cartridge would be much higher than the cost of the recycled ones. This is so because the recycled toner cartridge have some components that do not require replacement, so one has to spend only on the components that need replacement. This provides us with a cheap toner cartridge option.

5. Contributes towards lower air and water pollution: The inkjet toner used in printers comprises of various harmful chemicals and when the toner cartridges are disposed of, the residual toner mixes with the air and water leading to rise in pollution. If the residual toner is used in the recycling process to create a fresh toner cartridge the risk of increase in air and water pollution would decline to a great extent. Moreover, higher the production of toners, higher would be the level of pollution.

6. Decreases greenhouse gas emissions: The manufacturing of new toner cartridges leads to emission of harmful greenhouse gases that can alleviate the already worrisome problem of global warming. However, through recycling, you not only get cheap toner cartridges but you also become environmentally responsible.

There is no doubt that the recycling process provides cheap toner cartridge for use in printers, but one has to make sure that the recycled printer toner cartridges have high quality level that maintains the printing quality without damaging the printer.
